Licella is a pioneering Australian-based company described by Accenture as “Potentially Revolutionary”.

Licella is a pioneering Australian-based company described by Accenture as “Potentially Revolutionary” due to its unique patent pending process to transform biomass into Bio-Crude oil which can be refined into sustainable fuels.

Accenture defines ‘revolutionary’ technologies as those “that support the creation of fungible fuels, enabling the use of the existing distribution infrastructure. These technologies would remove the distribution infrastructure constraints on the speed and scale of penetration of biomass-based fuel.”

Using its proprietary supercritical water technology, Licella can use essentially any form of biomass feedstock to produce a stable Bio-Crude oil. At Licella’s Pilot Plant Radiata Pine sawdust has been transformed, but theoretically any biomass, such as corn stalks, can be used.
