Arbios’ Chuntoh Ghuna biofuels facility is the first commercial Cat-HTR™ facility for biomass to biofuels. The facility was given its name by the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, on whose unceded territory the facility is located, and means “the forest lives”. The facility is adjacent to Canfor Pulp’s Intercontinental Pulp Mill site, and benefits from BC’s established forestry and bioeconomy industry, local government funding and the province’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard.

First commercial HTL facility for advanced recycling of plastic

ReNew ELP is Mura’s flagship Hydro-PRT facility in Wilton (North-East England). This world-first HTL facility for advanced recycling of plastic will be constructed in two phases. The first phase, currently under commissioning and due to enter commercial operations in early 2025, will place 20,000 tonnes of recycled hydrocarbon products onto the market annually, with plans to increase to over three times this initial size.

Mura’s Hydro-PRT advanced recycling process, with our Cat-HTR™ technology at its core, is being rapidly scaled globally with sites in the UK, USA, Europe and Southeast Asia. Mura is targeting 1,500,000 tonnes of annual recycling capacity in operation or development by 2032, including global licenses sold by engineering and licensing partner, KBR.

A ‘first-of-a-kind’ SAF biorefinery of global significance

Licella’s Project Swift is a first-of-its-kind biorefinery in Queensland, powered by our breakthrough Cat-HTR™ technology. Now advancing from pre-FEED to FEED, the proposed facility will convert 150,000 tonnes of sugarcane residue into 56,000 tonnes of bio-intermediate annually, upgraded to ~40 million litres of SAF in partnership with Shell.

Building on insights from the first commercial Cat-HTR™ facility in Canada (Arbios), Project Swift features a modular design for rapid replication across Queensland and beyond. It has the potential to create hundreds of regional jobs and supply ~7% of the domestic airline industry’s 2030 SAF target, cementing Queensland’s place as a global leader in SAF production.

Next-generation advanced recycling

Licella has completed feasibility studies towards establishing a Cat-HTR^TM advanced recycling facility in Victoria. The proposed facility would process mixed End-of-Life Plastic into oil to make new food-grade post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic – enabling a circular economy for packaging. The proposed facility will initially process 20,000 tonnes per annum of End-of Life plastics, with a plan to expand its capacity over time. The facility has the potential to expand to process mixed waste.
